How does Alabama AD Mal Moore mea$ure up?
Tonight is the BCS national title game, and for Bloomberg Press that was a good excuse to take a look at the role of the athletics directors in college sports, with the spotlight on the man considered to be among the nation's finest: Florida's Jeremy Foley. The article goes into the changing roles of the ADs and looks at the issues they face. It also breaks down the salaries, including showing where Alabama athletics director Mal Moore stands among his colleagues.

Three new football players enroll at Alabama
Two incoming freshmen and a junior college transfer have enrolled in classes at the University of Alabama and will be added to theCrimson Tide's 2009 football roster. Freshman offensive lineman Chase Warmack of Westlake High School in Atlanta, Ga., graduated early from high school and began classes Wednesday, along with freshman running back Jermaine Preyear of Davidson High School in Mobile and junior college lineman James Carpenter. All three players will be eligible to take part in spring practice.

Shurtleff considers probe of the BCS
Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff was among the fans at the Sugar Bowl, cheering wildly as the Utes defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide. Now, fuming over their apparent denial of a national championship after an undefeated season, he's considering launching an investigation into college football's Bowl Championship Series. Shurtleff plans to meet with some of his lawyers and investigators next week to consider building an antitrust case against the BCS. "This game proved that it's an unfair system," the attorney general said in an interview with the Deseret News on Monday. "A team like Utah will never be given a chance."
