This Team Wants to be a Champion

It's August 23rd, one week until kickoff, Alabama is ranked in the top-25 and we the fans can still dream of championship scenarios. Like past years, the Tide is still undefeated; unlike recent years there is something different - this team is developing the heart of a champion.

At the heart's core is the freshman class. They're different. They have not been exposed to settling or being "close". They are confident enough that they want to win now. They may lack maturity, but they don't lack talent, leadership or heart.

I would be foolish to believe that a freshman class can carry a team through the SEC, but they have infused this team with something that's been missing. Youthful optimism.

Will it be enough? I don't know, that's why they play the games. For me, I've caught that youthful optimism. I feel good about next Saturday and the rest of the season. Let's play ball!
