Chapman faces tall order
Everywhere Josh Chapman goes, the attention seems to focus on Alabama's mammoth nose tackle, Terrence Cody. A knee injury will sideline Cody for at least the next two weeks, and even as family members called Chapman on Sunday to wish him well in his new role as the starter, there were just as many questions asking about Cody. "My family's excited but they like Cody, also," he said. "They just wish him the best. Everybody loves Cody."
Musclebound replacement for Bama's Cody
Opposing offenses won't have to scale Mount Cody to get through the middle of No. 2 Alabama's defensive line for a while. Now, they get "The Incredible Hulk" instead. With mammoth nose guard Terrence Cody out for at least two games with a knee injury, musclebound Josh Chapman will start for the Crimson Tide Saturday at Tennessee. They will face Alabama's strongest player instead of the biggest.
Tide nose guard Cody to miss at least 2 games
Alabama nose guard Terrence Cody probably will miss at least two games. Coach Nick Saban said Monday that Cody sustained a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee in the No. 2 (BCS) Crimson Tide’s win over Mississippi. Saban said Cody’s injury is similar to one that sidelined offensive tackle Andre Smith for a game earlier this season. Cody is expected to miss this week’s game at Tennessee and next week’s game with Arkansas State.
Arkansas State game to be pay-per-view
The Southeastern Conference released its television schedule for Nov. 1 games, confirming an earlier Alabama release that the Crimson Tide's game with Arkansas State would be a pay-per-view event at 2 p.m. Alabama had tentatively released a 2 p.m. kickoff time, but were waiting for the release of the schedule to make sure networks were not interested in televising their game in the same time slot (such as a 2:30 kick on CBS).
