Freshman Julio Jones shows strength
Alabama freshman sensation Julio Jones had his best game last Saturday against LSU. But Jones’ performances are noteworthy not for his statistics, but how he accumulated them. Whether it’s one-on-one coverage, splitting a seam or going into traffic, the physical Jones has displayed an ability to separate from defenders. And what happens after the catch has his teammates buzzing. “I think those are tremendously positive characteristics for him that you never know when you get a talented guy if they really have those things,” Saban said. “He played that way in high school and he was that kind of player in high school. He has certainly carried that over to here.”

'Bama's Cody still healing
The first thing Alabama's Terrence Cody remembers about his recent knee injury was the pain and fear, lying on the ground at Bryant-Denny Stadium and wondering if his season was over. ``I was like, 'Aw man, I think I'm done, I don't know what to do,''' Cody said.

Caldwell's dream season, Upchurch's injury...
For whatever reason, Alabama coach Nick Saban was in a little bit of a good mood today. That usually means one of two things: 1) He's going to say something kinda funny; or 2) He's going to do a little needling of the media. This time, it was both. Antoine Caldwell made a difficult decision to return for his senior season, rather than enter the NFL Draft. The Montgomery native said he couldn't be happier with his choice. Roy Upchurch practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, after sitting out the LSU and game, Monday and Tuesday with neck spasms.
